How it works
Four steps from your first upload to a lower rate. Here is what happens at each one.
Upload your statement
You find your latest statement
Use your latest monthly invoice or statement from your card provider. Stripe and Square issue a monthly tax invoice, and PayPal a monthly statement. The form shows you where to find each one.
You add your card sales
Tell us your total card sales for the same month. Stripe and Square invoices show your fees but not your sales, so we need both to work out your rate.
You send it to us
It takes a few minutes. You see a confirmation straight away, with a reference to quote if you get in touch. Your statement is seen only by TackleHQ and the service providers that work for us.
See your target rate
We work out your real rate
What you paid in total, as a share of what you sold. That one number is what you are really paying, whatever your provider's headline rate says.
We set a target
We compare your rate with what businesses like yours actually pay, and set the benchmark rate we will aim for when we renegotiate on your behalf.
We email you
You get your real rate, the target, what that would save you, and exactly how our fee works.
If you already have a great deal and there are no real savings to be had, we will tell you that instead.
Compare offers
You give us the go-ahead
If you want us to go after that rate, e-sign a letter of authority. It lets us get quotes on your behalf and confirm your new rate with your provider. Nothing is charged at this point.
We run the quote process
We approach providers that offer a standard plugin for your store platform, so switching is simple and quick.
We collect every fee, not just the headline rate: monthly minimums, gateway fees, chargeback fees, refund fees, international card loadings and settlement timing. Every quote is converted to what you would actually pay on your own sales, so no provider can win on a low headline rate and recover it elsewhere.
You compare the offers
You see the offers side by side, ranked by what they save you. Providers are described rather than named at this stage, for example "large bank".
Switch
You choose your new provider
Choose the offer you want to move forward with and e-sign our fee agreement. We then give you the provider's name, their onboarding steps, and a switch guide for your store platform.
You sign up and connect
You sign up with your new provider and they approve your account. Then you connect them to your store. On WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and Shopify Plus this is usually a plugin change, and our switch guide takes you through it.
We confirm it, then we bill
We check that your new provider is live on your checkout and confirm the new rate in writing. Only then do we charge the fee, billed to your card over the first three months.
If the new provider does not approve your account, or you decide not to switch, you pay nothing.
